Sibshops are just for the brothers and sisters of kids with disabilities. Join us for games, activities, and connection with other siblings who “get it.”
What Are Sibshops?
Sibshops are lively, recreational support groups designed specifically for siblings of children with disabilities. These groups provide siblings with opportunities to:
- Meet others with similar experiences
- Celebrate siblings strengths and resiliency
- Talk about the good and not-so-good parts of having a sibling with support needs
- Learn more about disabilities in a kid-friendly way
- Celebrate the unique joys of being a sibling!
Why Do Sibshops Matter?
Many siblings of disabled individuals report feeling invisible, alone, concerned/responsible for their sibling, or uncertain about the future. Sibshops provide community, connection, fun, support, and education for kids whose siblings have support needs.
